5 WAYS TO MAKE BLACK FRIDAY GREEN.
It is almost impossible to ignore the deals on Black Friday. The discounts are ridiculous! And who doesn’t love good deals?
What if we told you that 80% of purchases from Black Friday end up in a landfill, are incinerated or are recycled poorly? Well, sure, that’s sad but the end of the month is approaching and you could really do with some discounts!
Many sustainable brands opt out of Black Friday sales but instead, this year we’re trying something different. Fast fashion brands are offering you good deals? Here are some GOOD-er thrift deals! We’re matching their unreal discounts and even if we can divert 0.000001% of Black Friday shoppers to thrifting, we’ll feel like we have won :)
So here’s some tips to make your Black Friday green:
BUY ONLY WHAT YOU NEED
Do you need three more crop tops in your closet? Or would you rather invest in one heavy, durable winter coat that will last you years to come? Be mindful and ask yourself before reaching the billing counter – DO I REALLY NEED THIS?
CLOSE THE LOOP
Donate clothes, plastic bags and books you don’t need or would otherwise throw away. There are plenty of upcycling and recycling initiatives that will utilise your waste to do good. We also have a donation box at our store this weekend in collaboration with Dharavi Diary. Check out a list below:
